What is Wrong with the Twins?

Minnesota finished the 2007 baseball season 4 games under .500, hardly making them a bad team. They have the best pitcher in baseball and they are going to send them to a contender in their league. The Twins have the upper hand, they hold all the cards. Is taking a little less worth getting him out of your Division or League? I would think so, because the Twins are going to play one of these teams in the playoffs or fight them for a Wild Card spot. The Twins are close to dealing away 15 wins and 37 saves. Closer Joe Nathan may be right behind Santana.

Is Minnesota Rebuilding? I am sure their fans would be interested in hearing an answer to that. Outfielder and the cornerstone of the team, Torri Hunter has already left. He led the team in batting average hit alot of home runs, drove in runs, and played the Center Field position possibly better than anyone in the game. Who is next to leave? Carlos Silva is packed and boarding the one way bus out of Minnesota.

My opinion may not matter much. If Santana leaves, Nathan leaves, Silva leaves, then the Twins may not compete for a couple years. A couple prospects would be great to pick up, but what does that do for the team? They wouldn't have one pitcher with a better than .500 record from 07. The bullpen is beat and the lineup would be anything but scary.

The Twins will be building a new ball park, and I guess they have decided to build for that day. They should send apologies to the fans for imploding the team.
