NBA BM Time!!!!

We can now start breaking down the East. Moves should be about done for a month or so. With just roster cuts left. Yesterday the Miami Heat sent Michael Doleac, Wayne Simien, and Antoine Walker to the Wolves for Ricky Davis and Mark Blount. This move gives the Heat a weapon to help play without Wade and when Wade comes back a corner three point shooter to make this team a contender. The only team looking to make moves are the Wolves. McHale wants that team to be strictly rebuilding, and Walker and Doleac don't help that. Doleac does take about 3 million off the books at year end, so i dont see him leaving unless it is for a draft pick.

Durant Hurt:

The Sonics are struggling with whether they should rush their rookie back for opening night to show him off, or make sure he gets healthy first. Good news, the MRI shows no fractures or damage. Look for him to play.

J.R. Smith, what a guy:

Court records show that JR spilled champagne on a woman, apologized, then spit on her pushed her to the ground and tore her dress. The NBA needs more guys like this. They must be so proud to call him one of their own.

NBA Rookie of the Year BM

Riggs! My knee hurts Riggs!
But there was nothing Martin Riggs could do, Greg Oden's season is over. The favorite for rookie of the year would be looking toward next year.

SO before we give Kevin Durant the ROY, lets break the whole thing down.

My top 10.

1. Kevin Durant- Can score anywhere, play 4 positions, but will his frame hold up?
2. Juan Carlos Navarro- The dark horse, MVP of the Spanish league. Will get minutes for the Grizz
3. Luis Scola- Talented PF for the Rockets and will start. If Houston makes a move at the PF he could suffer.
4. Marco Belinelli- Should take over Mikael Pietrus starting spot. But Nelson can play many guys at this position.
5. Rodney Stuckey- Has played great in the Summer and preseason. Could contribute but at how many minutes?
6. Al Horford- Again the Hawks have so many young guys only one ball. On another team he is ROY.
7. Al Thornton- Should get some time as the year goes on. This kid can play!
8. Corey Brewer- The wolves look like the Hawks this year. Again they only have one ball.
9. YI- I don't know how it will work out for Yi, it took him too long to long to sign. I just don't think he will play valuable minutes this year.
10.- Jason Smith- the sixers have been playing him through the preseason and this Center could step in for Dalembert and maybe for a trade.

My winner will be between Marco and Juan Carlos. Juan on the Heat, would have been the clear favorite. They would have started him and moved J Will. Will he get time on the Grizz? only time will tell.

NBA BM

Huge Loss:

Bobcats 6th man Adam Morrison is done for the year. An MRI revealed that he has a torn ligament in his knee and surgery will be required. The Bobcats were looking for Adam to start contributing more this year. He averaged just over 11 pts a game last year. His minutes will be moved to Derek Anderson, Matt Carroll, and Walter Hermann. Carroll plays a similar game as Morrison, but shoots the ball better.

Justin Williams:

Sacremento Kings reserve center Justin Williams is being accused of sexual assault. but this isn't just any accusation. The woman says that she was sexually assaulted by Justin and his girlfriend. Williams and his girlfriend are saying that it was consensual. Way to get at that Monkey.

76ers:

Iguodola is the man this year. But this year may be diffrent. The 76ers are picked to finish last in their division. But they finished last year strong and added to players that could have immediate impact. How will they succeed? Here are 3 steps to the sixers making the playoffs.
1. Reggie Evans: Can he lead the league in rebounds? Yes without a doubt. But more importantly, he has had problems turning those rebounds into points. He leads the preseason in rebounds, but is 0-16 from the field. He will get to the line, and make those. But the sixers need him to score baskets.
2. The center position needs to score. Dalembert is not healthy and even when he is, he does not score. Rookie Jason Smith is playing great minutes and has probably earned time in the rotation. He is getting outside shots, rebounding, and playing solid defense.
3. They need to win some games early. If they do not, then the team could be broken up even more. Andre Miller is a big part of this team, and he will be moved if they can't win early.

LOTW

2-4 Mr. Wachowski against the 5-1 Daily BM

This week will feature a 2 game pick for both sides. Here We Go!

The Daily BM picks will feature two super underdogs. The Buffalo Bills over the Baltimore Ravens and the Jacksonville Jaguars over the team that no one is talking about but won the super bowl last year. I won't mention their name.
SO Buffalo and Jax

Mr. Wachowski takes the San Fran Dilfer led 49ers over the NY Gints. Sad, but yes, this is an upset pick. The beginning of the year brought hope to SF fans, and the Gints looked like they would not win more than 3 games. The tables have turned but we are all hoping for a huge SF win. Second and more importantly, to keep their divisions in reach, the Bears and the Birds face off. Kurt will take the Philadelphia pass happy Eagles.

All I can say is that these four games are Slam Dunks.
Do you want me to shoot it? NO!
Do you want me to pass it? NO!
Do you want me to slam? YEA!!!

And that is what we will do all year, keep serving you the slam dunks!

We Hate COMCAST Cable!

I want to thank you website www.iwantnflnetwork.com for providing answers to why Cable companies such as Comcast and Time Warner suck.

Here are some interesting facts from http://www.iwantnflnetwork.com/truth.php

The truth is simple: cable companies raise rates and stifle competition – and are now denying you access to football 24:7 on NFL Network. Football fans are being held hostage: either they pay extra to subscribe to the cable company’s “sports tier” and spend hundreds of dollars a year for additional channels they don’t want – or they’re totally blocked from receiving high-quality NFL football programming on NFL Network.
FACT:
A number of the largest cable companies – including Comcast, Time Warner and Cablevision – have either moved NFL Network to a pay-extra sports tier or refused to carry it at all.
FACT:
Cable companies like Comcast, Time Warner and Cablevision are refusing to negotiate in good faith to give their customers access to NFL Network.
FACT:
Cable rates have increased by 41% in the last few years, and cable companies still aren’t satisfied. They’re trying to cash in on the NFL’s popularity by charging football fans an additional fee to watch their favorite teams in action.
FACT:
It costs only 2 cents per subscriber a day for cable companies to offer NFL Network, yet they want to charge you up to $10 per month for the right to watch NFL Network.
FACT:
Although more than 222 million Americans watched NFL football last year, the cable companies argue that NFL Network’s audience is too small to justify a spot in the basic lineup. Yet they manage to offer less popular sports channels they own, like Versus and the Golf Channel, on basic cable.
FACT:
Cable has a double standard when it comes to sports channels. Channels they own, like Versus and the Golf Channel are included in the basic lineup. Independent channels like NFL Network get left out in the cold. This is unfair and anti-consumer. Consumer interest should decide what channels get carried – not inside deals among cable companies.
FACT:
Cable’s standard tactics stifle competition, by denying access to independent networks and by allowing cable to abuse their monopoly franchises.
FACT:
Cable subscribers that live outside their favorite teams’ home markets won’t see their teams play on NFL Network unless they pay extra fees to their cable provider. NFL Network games are broadcast free over-the-air in the team’s local market – but Dallas Cowboys fans in San Antonio and Green Bay Packers fans in Madison, for example, will miss seeing their favorite teams play.

My Conclusion: Comcast must not be making enough money. Maybe they are upset that the channels they own such as VS and the golf channel is only watched by 10 people nationwide. We pay our cable bill every month, give us what we want. With the NFL Network carrying 8 games or more towards the end of the year, it is important to everyone that we have it. You will continue to lose cutomers to Verizon, and that makes me happy. Your service sucks. Your customer service is the worst I've ever seen. It also is great that when you call to say your cable isn't working, they are like un plug the device and plug it back in. Oh so that is what your great technology has come to?

NBA Training Camp BM

Updates Here Updates There Updates Everywhere!

Kobe, Kobe, Kobe:

Buss wants this Kobe drama to end. Well when you want to put out a fire, everyone knows you take a piss on it, not add fuel. The best bet now is that Kobe will not be a Laker after this year. He could be traded now, he could go by February, or he could go next summer. Bottom line is he will go!
Where to? The best bet remains the East, with the Knicks and Bulls being the best bets. The Bulls can offer the most talent. With Deng or Gordon, a Young PF (Noah or Thomas), and a draft pick. Kobe would love to play in NY, but not now. Not the way they look now and with Thomas as coach. I mean Isiah might sexually harass him.
The Suns and Mavs could offer great packages, but why would they keep him in the West to light them up week in and week out?
My guess is the East and the new rumor is the Celtics. Lets see how the beginning of the season plays out and if Paul Pierce doesn't work early, then it he could be moved with Rondo and a pick for Kobe. Trading a selfish basketball player for a more selfish basketball player makes no sense. But Kobe can defend on the perimeter, and that is all that matters.

Allan Houston Comeback update:

It isn't happening. He isn't even dressing for preseason games. Please give up!

Penny Comeback:

The player formerly known as Lil Penny is back. He will probably make the Heat because of the little things. His shot will come along. Right now in his first game back, he was rebounding and moving the ball very well. He is a solid role player and the Heat will welcome that.

Injuries here and there:

Kenyon Martin: No injuries for now, well as of 550 PM today, but there are still many more hours left in the day, and remember he is on Mountain time.
Shaq: Day to day with a foot injury. Will not play for the rest of the preseason
ZO: Quad injury and will not play for the next week
Jason Kidd: Out for the preseason with an ankle injury. His back hand is still healthy and he will use it ladies!
Gasol: out 5-7 days with an ankle injury
Jerome James: Has 4 screws loose in his knee that he had inserted in 1999. The knicks are terrible, just get the guy healthy for your 2012 playoff run.
Scott Pollard: Still the ugliest man in the NBA since Tyrone Hill left, and will miss 4 games of the preseason with a vagina injury.
Nene: The player with the longest list of injuries in the NBA will be honored at half time of the Nuggest opening game with the Golden ace bandage award. Marcus Camby has finally turned the award over. But the season hasn't started yet, give him time to earn it back. Also in the running, Grant Hill and K-mart
Speedy Claxton: Missed 40 games last year and is hurt again. What is it? His other knee, and the MRI shows... Drum Roll please!? It shows... NOTHING! For the love of god play basketball

NBA BM

Courtesy of the Sports Network, here are 10 players to watch. I will then telly ou why we don't care and why we won't watch. Because I am a dick and this is what I do.

Here's a list of 10 players to keep a watchful eye on during the 2007-08 campaign.
1. AL JEFFERSON (MINNESOTA TIMBERWOLVES) - Ummm Minnesota is going to suck this year. No one will watch them, not even Kevin McHale.
2. PAUL PIERCE (BOSTON CELTICS)- I am going to be watching Kevin and Ray Ray take the ball from big Paul, does that count?
3. ALLEN IVERSON (DENVER NUGGETS)- WIll Carmelo let him touch the ball? AI will average less than ever this year.
4. RASHARD LEWIS (ORLANDO MAGIC) - THe biggest Free agent acquisition in B-ball this summer will also be the biggest bust. Injuries, lack of interest, and in the future and salary cap issue will be more an issue than Rachards play. Trade him now!
5. DERON WILLIAMS (UTAH JAZZ) - Great player, but his team is folding. Fisher gone! Kirilenko, well he hates the Jazz. So good luck Deron.
6. ANDREW BOGUT (MILWAUKEE BUCKS)- I am watching Yi suck this year, who cares about Bogut.
7. KEVIN DURANT (SEATTLE SUPERSONICS)- I love K.D. no arguments here.
8. JOAKIM NOAH (CHICAGO BULLS) - HAHAHAHA BUST!
9. MARVIN WILLIAMS (ATLANTA HAWKS) - Maybe next year!
10. LOUIS WILLIAMS (PHILADELPHIA 76ERS) - The boy can play, but will he ever in the NBA? He did last year, but he can't jump the hump. And Andre is so much better than him and should be the long term PG in Philly.

MLB Managers BM

Why is Joe Torre about to lose his J-O-B?
Why is Charlie Manual safe for two years?

Well Joe Torre won 4 or 6 World Series and Charlie won how many with the Phillies? Let's throw that out and talk about this year. Charlie and the phillies lost in round one of the playoffs. Wait, so did Joe Torre and the Yankees, but they won a game. The Yankees even won more games. So how does this make sense.
SIMPLE

Joe Torre has the pieces to win, Charlie didn't. You Gave Charlie a half full bag of shit and he turned it into a playoff team. Joe has potential, former, or current all-stars at every position. A solid pitching rotation, and an endless bullpen with possibly the best closer of all time.

Charlie had what? 6 starters going into the season. But one had to go to the bullpen to save that situation. They lost Freddy Garcia, Jon Leiber, Ryan Madsen, for the year. He had one pitcher survive the whole year in Jamie Moyer, the 44 year old veteran. Hamels, Gordon, Myers, Geary, and Eaton(who was terrible) all spent time on the DL. That is almost their whole pitching staff. And that is why Charlie is here. His team pulled together and won games, bottom line. He lost his two right fielders, and they still started the playoff run without them. They lost an MVP candidate at the time for a month, and they still managed an above .500 record without him.

So like I said earlier, Charlie was handed a half full bag of shit and what did he do? He lit it on fire and put it on someones door step. Joe was given a full bag, and what did he do? He called the shit poop.

Let's get these Nice Men Business

They are doing a good thing, Let's help them out.

Daily NBA BM (Training Camp Edition)

Sean May:

I recently reported that Sean may was out day to day, and would be reevaluated by weeks end to see how serious his injury was. Well the bobcats found out over the weekend that May will have the same surgery that Amare Stoudamire had and now Greg Oden just had. SO what will they do?
My suggestions:
1. Rick Bonnell of Inside the NBA reports that they should either play Ryan Hollins the second round pick from last year who has barely played in the NBA or sign a free agent such as Marc Jackson. Neither provide an efficient talent level that will help them compete in the NBA. Sorry Marc. My suggestion is they make a move quickly. Why not sign Anderson Varejao. He is waiting for the Cavs to throw a bag of change his way. The Bobcats could use that rebounding side show bob look alike to not have a mismatch every night up front.
2. Make a move with Adam Morrison and someone to try and pry Udonis Haslem away from the heat. The Heat need an outside shooter and to lose a little salary.

Phil Jackson:

Jerry "DUI" Buss isn't sure that Phil will sign an extension. He wants Phil to coach Kobe until he retires, but that isn't likely. Phil Jackson may be in his last year. LA added almost no one to help Kobe except derek Fisher, and that will not be the right way for Phil to go out.

Eddy Curry:

PHEWWWWW! what the Knicks front office is saying after finding out that big Ed will only be out 2 weeks. The are really thin up front, and can't afford to lose him.

Miami Heat:

The Heat are still looking to make a move. Right now the best bet would be waiting for the Kings to start bad, and stealing Bibby from them for Jason Williams. Giving the Kings room at the end of the year to make a huge move.

I am Superfan

Super Fan- A person or persons who believe in their sports team to win and that they have an effect on their winning; Mostly a fan of sports teams but any person who is willing to dress not normally (for sports commonly face painting and body painting) for the sake of the team, book, or movie would be a super fan; A person who will pull the sake of the good from a 45-0 lose of their favorite team.

I am Super Fan, my obsession for my teams and total lack for normal human behavior never goes unappreciated.

I am Super Fan, if you put my team against a natural disaster such as a Tsunami or Hurricane, I would pick my team to not only cover the spread, but win convincingly.

I am Super Fan, if I felt like wearing a clown mask, my teams jersey, and no underwear to the game would help my team win, I would.

I am Super Fan, I am the guy that you had to move your kids away from to enjoy the game.

I am Super Fan, I hate your team, but not only do I hate them, I hate their families and hope that their children lose use of important body parts so they can't follow in your foot steps.

I am Super Fan, and I am better than you.

I am Super Fan, I will believe that my team will make it when they are 7 games out with 15 to go, when they have no shot and you give them no shot.

I am Super Fan, the leader of the good people, the people that cheer for the same team I do, the developer of youth in possible Super Fans of the future.

I am Super Fan, the guy who sits in the same seat, with the same jersey and same underwear in hopes that it will inspire my team to win.

I am Super Fan, I will bring a jersey out of retirement, a Mike Mamula jersey for that matter, in hopes that it will bring a W on this weekend.

I am Super Fan, I have so many more Holiday's than you do, every weekend, every weeknight every day that my team plays, aren't you jealous?

I am Super Fan, and your not, you never will be, and I am better than you.

Super Fan Example: Da Bears

Baseball update (offseason, playoffs)

SWEEPS!
ROCKIES
D-BAGS
REDSOX
INDIANS...... oh wait... they couldn't pull off their sweep.
Damnit, well i guess we have to wait now.
The Yankees refused to die, lets see if they can keep that up.

So Curt Schilling is a hero again... oh god he we go again. I heard a he stubbed his toe after the win, will he be able to fight through adversity and pitch next series? Only time will tell.

Big story lines for the off season?

Soriano, a huge bust. he killed the Cubs with mistakes like scouts said he would. HA take that!

Rowand, Will he leave the phillies. They want him back but at what price?

Who will leave the angels? Will they ever get over the hump?

Who will the Pirates Hire? How many coaches will change positions?

And finally, who will the yank-mes sign, overpay for, and let go... Joe Torre?

LOTW update

Mr. Wachowski stands at a 1-3 mark with the pick of the dolphins this week... After hanging his head in defeat, he vowed a comeback only 2 games back.
The Daily BM stands at a 3-1 mark after a Chicago Bears rally last night...
The BM will probably pick the Eagles next week.

Baseball BM

This just in, The Rockies are good. Man they are scary. In no way do I think this series is over. momentum could swing once the phillies get away from their home crowd. I think the pressure is too high.

Another news update, The cubs suck. They are about to go down 2-0

The Red Sox looked great, Beckett is a beast. They could easily sweep and be waiting for the Indians. While were on the Indians, they crushed the Yanks tonight. Nice to see. Game two could go the Yankees way, but not game three. Roger is pitching and he is just terrible right now. Bad decision starting him, but hey he is making 30 million. I guess you have to.

Training Camp BM

YI (EE) is HERE!

The Chinese 19 year old is here, who is rumored to actually be older than that. He is tired and showed it in his first practice. Yi had to fulfill national team duties in China and is now here for good. He will still be apart of his team back home, just not during the year. Yi has been playing basketball for 4 straight months, so has already taken part in training camp. The bucks are looking for him to contribute, but I really don't think he will for a couple years.
Yi is overall much less polished than Yoa, and not as ready as Yoa was to come to the NBA level. Yi wasn't even the best guy on his national team. He is young with much upside, and should be a fine player once he learns the NBA game. The kid can flat out play defense, but his shot is off an on. When it's on, it is unstoppable. Inside and outside, this kid will score one day. He will not be Kevin Durant this year. He won't ever be Kevin Durant for that matter. But he will be solid.
Congrats to the Bucks for pulling it off, they got him to commit and play there, now they have to win. Many Chinese people were there to greet him coming off the plane, coincidence? I don't think so. The Bucks probably offered free chigger food to the first 300 people who showed up.

Miami Heat-

Pat Riley held a midnight madness practice the first day he was allowed. The main focus for Riley is to change this teams attitude. They thought they were unstoppable last year. Riley wants them to feel like they can be beat and will be unless they want to start winning. They are thin right now, but added some role players. Unless they change that attitude fast, it could be a lottery year.

Chris Webber-

Narrowed his options down to playing in Greece, retiring, and the Detroit Pistons. The Pistons only want him for little money. Chris thinks he deserves at least the mid level. The sixers are still paying him too. It's time to retire, you stink.

Point Guard Switch:

Dickau is headed to the clips, and Jordan to the Knicks. Upgrade? Who knows!
Dan Dickau might not be the worst defensive guard in the league -- not so long as Troy Hudson remains on an NBA roster -- but he makes Luke Ridnour look like Maurice Cheeks. And Luke Ridnour looks nothing like Maurice Cheeks. Dickau can be a deadly shooter and, Zag that he is, a beautiful ball-handler, but I'm surprised he's been able to stay in the league as long as he has. Jared Jordan is a great guy but can he play? For what it's worth, I hope he makes it in New York, then they will trade him for an overpriced point guard like always.

Injuries:(Expected return)

Brandon Roy- Scary, Hurt his heal already which cost him 25 games last year. This one could linger. (start of regular season)
Antoine Walker- Not injured, but he was out because of CHUBBYNESS. (This week)
Beno Udrih- Broke finger and will now really not play for the Champion spurs. (3-4 weeks, but doesn't play anyway)
Marcus Camby- Ok, he's not hurt, but he will be. Just wait
Andres Nocioni- Good news, he is slim and no injuries.
Etan Thomas- I think he died. (i don't think you can play dead, so expected return never)
Sean May and Othella Harrington- Both big men for the Bobcats are day to day
Tony Battie- Not a good fantasy pick, he is done for the year with rotator cuff surgery. You won't be missed.

We love 93, But we might love the 07 team more!

The 1993 Phillies were a bunch of Chum spitting dirtballs. They stole this cities heart, and we rode their coat tails all the way until Mitch Williams threw Joe Mother F_cking Carter that fastball that ended up in the seats. But who really gets the edge, the 93 phils or the 07 phils?
Lets compare:

Standings:
W- L- Pct.
Phillies (2007) 89-73-.549
Phillies (1993) 97-65-.599
Edge: 1993 Phillies, both teams won the NL East

Lineup:
93/07
C - Daulton VS. Carlos Ruiz Winner 93
1B-Kruk VS. Ryan Howard Winner Draw
2B-Morandini VS. Chase Utley Winner 07
3B-Hollins VS. Dobbs/ Nunez Winner 93
SS-Stocker/ Duncan VS. Jimmy Rollins Winner 07
LF-Incaviglia/Thompson VS. Pat Burrell Winner Draw
CF-Dykstra VS. Aaron Rowand Winner 93
RF-Eisenreich/Chamberlain VS. Jason Werth/ Shane Victorino Winner Draw
SP Curt Schilling VS. Cole Hamels Winner 93
SP Danny Jackson VS. Kyle Kendrick Winner Draw
SP Tommy Greene VS. Kyle Lohse Winner 93
SP Terry Mulholland VS. Jamie Moyer Winner 07
SP Ben Rivera VS. Adam Eaton Winner 07
CL Mitch Williams VS. Brett Myers Winner 07
RP David West VS. Tom Gordon Winner 93
RP Larry Andersen VS. J.C. Romero Winner 93
RP Roger Mason VS. Antonio Alfonseca Winner 07
RP Mark Davis VS. Geoff Geary Winner Draw

Manager: 93 Jim Fergosi VS. Charlie Manual Winner 07

Charlie Wins Because of more injuries and less talent. Also, because of his post game speeches.

Story lines: The 93 phillies were a group of guys that totally overcame the odds against them to beat the Atlanta Braves and go to the World Series to lose in a game 6 to the Toronto Blue Jays. Like the current team their bullpen stunk. Their closer was erratic, their starters were fighters but not great yet or respected. Unlike current team, they didn't have any superstars. The 07 team has a Home Run King and MVP Ryan Howard. Not to say the 93 team didn't have players, but they were just dog fighters. The 07 Phillies tied the biggest comeback overcoming a 7 game deficit to beat the New York Mets for the division crown. The 93 team won their division easily, and upset the Atlanta Braves in the playoffs. They have different backgrounds, but all in all I see this as a draw so far with the 93 Phillies having the edge.

The Difference: The winner can only be determined after the 07 phillies outcome. A World Series would make them the most loved Philadelphia Phillies team of all time. At least in my lifetime.

LETS GO PHILLIES!

Stay tuned for the final decision.

I want to get this in writing

And the 2007-08 most improved player of the year will be Dorell Wright of the Miami Heat. Dorell has gotten small chances to play, and for a while he did a hell of a job back in 06. Drafted the year that Shaq came to Miami, and has basically been on the bench since, he was never even given a solid chance. If he played well for a game, chances were he would see the bench for a month after. Dorell has the explosiveness of a superstar, a solid defensive game, and a good mid range jumper. Well if he is that good then why didn't he play?
Reason 1, specialists in front of him. Walker in o5-06, Kapono in 06-07, and Posey in both. Those guys were either in there to shoot threes or play defense. The heat let Kapono, Posey, and Eddie Jones go this summer and with Walker as trade bait all year this year and the minutes he puts in will probably be split at PF and SF, Dorell should start at the three. Penny will back up D. Wade. The PG situation is set with a three man rotation already. Dorell will be the offensive outside force with Wade out til November. He will have the rock in his hands and will show he deserves minutes and even when Wade comes back he will get them. Mark my words, he will be great.

Miami is still looking to make some moves, either for Ricky Davis and Trent Hassell or going big for Mike Bibby or Mikael Pietrus. The Heat want to make a move to get better without killing their nucleus. Sacramento want J Dubs and Haslem for Bibby. I don't know if its the best move but a healthy Shaq, Wade, and Bibby is championship Esq!

Salaries TIME!

Ok so its Baseball playoff time. Lets take the salaries for fun and show where they rank.
Does Money get you to the playoffs?
Here is your answer!

The Mets, Dodgers, Cards, and Braves all finished with records worse than the Phillies, but have higher salaries.
But the Yankees and Red Sox have the top to payrolls, and both made the playoffs.
The team with the lowest salary in the playoffs, would be the Arizona Diamondbacks.
You can take the Phillies, Rockies, and Diamondbacks together to get just above the Yankees salary. Three NL playoff teams to one AL team.

Playoff Team Salaries (league rank)
PAYROLL (US$)
1. NY Yankees (3)
195,229,045
2. Boston (2)
143,123,714
5. LA Angels (4)
109,251,333
8. Chicago Cubs (12)
99,936,999
14. Philadelphia (t6)
89,368,213
23. Cleveland (1)
61,289,667
24. San Diego (t6)
58,235,567
25. Colorado (t6)
54,424,000
26. Arizona (5)
52,067,546

So I would say that money gets you talent, but not the record. Its the managing, pitching, then hitting. Overall, Its not about the money!

LOTW update

Mr Wachowski goes to 1-2
the Daily BM goes to 2-1
Minnesota fell to GB and Chicago blew thier load against the Lions.

MLB BM

It is official, the postseason is beginning. The collapse of the New York Mets is for real. The Phillies have done it and the city is ready to ride this team to World Series.
The aces for the two wild card hopefuls will go today and will not see action until game 3 of the post season. So this is real, the phillies have a real shot. Pure emotion, check. Pure skill and talent, check. Desire to win, check.
SO here we go.
The cubs snuck in on a not so hot streak. But that could change. Arizona did the same but they are a good young baseball team. The Padres are a mix of both the cubs and diamondbacks, and they don't seem to scare anyone. The Rockies are downright scary.
The Phillies have pitching questions, but a broad street parade is in their grasp.

No matter what anyone says, Cleveland should beat New York. LA should beat Boston, but I would love to see the Boston vs NY matchup.
Arizona should coast past the cubs, but who wouldn't love to see the Phils and the Cubs. Two down cities play for this series.
Hamels needs to pitch like Beckett did for the Marlins a couple years back. If he can be that guy the Phils win.
Eaton needs to not see the mound.
I want to now thank the Florida Marlins for caring and playing yesterday and all of September. They usually F__k the phillies in the end, but this year they helped. I am truly grateful. Now Send Dontrelle up here for next season. THANKS!
