NBA BM

Oden Vs. Durant:

It is a sad day for the NBA. Portland fans were buying up season tickets and their image as a team was finally changing. Oden rounded up the troops early and they were working together voluntarily. The Oden Vs. Durant competition was on. Forever they would be compared like Jordan and Bowie, like Lebron and Melo and Wade too. But now, they may never compare. Durant will have a whole year on Oden, and maybe in 5 years that won't matter, but this year and for the next couple it will. Portland will have even more money next off season to spend and surround Oden with more talent. But he will still be a rookie, damaged goods, and most importantly a huge question mark. Whether he will ever pan out as a real player we won't know for a long time. Will Oden turn into Hakeem the Dream or Sam Bowie? I can only hope the fans aren't disappointed.

Don Nelson:

He finally got his deal. Thank god he was rewarded, it shows that the Warriors actually want to win.

NBA Signings/Transactions/ News

Melvin Ely- Hornets currently New Orleans, but hey it's still hurricane season, they could move!
David Wesley- One way ticket to retirement, the Cavs Do not want his services anymore.
Devin Harris- Signed a 5 year extension with the Mavs
Isiah Thomas- 10 Million dollar lawsuit for sexual harassment, star witness for his side is Stephon Marbury. HAHA
Lebron- Clearer vision (laser eye surgery) may make him even better.
Dajuan Wagner- signed with Prokom Trefl Sopot. Yea, mark him up for the next guy to die as a former Pro B-ball player

And Finally...

The WNBA Finals:

Oh man, does it ever get old. The San Francisco Blanket Knitters Vs. the Boston Blumpkin givers. Seriously, who knows who is in the finals, I will give them 100 dollars if they do and they don't have to look it up.

bummer for portland and oden, but we're fine with it here in Seattle...ROY is about locked up now.

as for the wnba final...try watching a game...it's better than the Spurs/Cavs matchup, and i'd watch this finals matchup over a hawks/bobcats matchup any day of the week.

Phoenix Mercury vs. Detroit Shock

Phoenix is coached by former Laker championship coach Paul Westhead and they play just like the Suns...run, run, run and shoot, shoot, shoot. Detroit is coached by former Piston Bad Boys Bill Lambier and Rick Mahorn and they play just like Bill and Rick did...nasty and physical. Their leading post player is Karl Malone's daughter, she looks and plays just like him. Since i am a stat nut here are the players off the top of my head....

Phoenix
Diana Taurasi, Cappie Pondexter, Penny Taylor, Kellie Miller, Tangela Smith, Belinda Snell, Kelly Mazzante, Kelly Schumacher, Jenifer Derevjanik

Detroit
Cheryl Ford(karl jr.), Katie Smith, Deanna Nolan, Swin Cash,Elaine Powell, Shannon Johnson, Kara Braxton, Plennette Pierson, Katie Feenstra

Where's my $100 bucks, dude.

Ignorance is Bliss

Yea your right, i should be ashamed of myself. There is nothing like a killer crossover, move to the hoop and sealing the beauty with a two handed lay-up...
Yawn...
I would rather have a couple beers and watch paint dry.

Honestly, i would watch game 5 just from your comments. I have watched plenty of WNBA basketball, but honestly find college more interesting. I think it is a terrible idea for them to throw game 5 against football's day game of the week. That just doesn't make any sense. But i guess there isn't many other options. Saturday football, and game of the week USC and Nebraska, NFL all day sunday with Monday night football on Monday.
It's not women I am bashing, because I went to a ton of Women's soccer games when they had that hear in Philadelphia. It was fun. I also woke up at 450 this morning to watch the women's world cup. I just don't find WNBA fun. It looks like your wife played, and that is an amazing feat in itself. I congratulate her, but I can not watch.
It also looks like you are a Sonics fan. You must be excited. I hope they can compete and make th eplayoffs this year, if not maybe next year. Green and Durant, what a combo. Enough for you to get season tickets?

been a season ticket holder to the sonics for five years and for the wnba storm for two, working damn hard to keep both teams here. my wife never played...though she managed the boy's team in hs. couldn't have cared less about women's ball until I went to a few games out of Sonic loyalty...seattle fans made the game a blast and the league grew on me. fortunately the game has gotten way better in the past five years. basketball is an addiction.

I hope you do keep the teams. I have an aunt in Seattle, great town and great fans... Not like Philly fans, but that can be a good or bad thing depending on your take. Sounds like the sonics will be kept in thier lease though. I hope that they can, the city deserves this team. You happy that Ray Allen is gone?

philly fans are by far less "fair weather" than seattle fans. seattle fans follow the m's, hawks and sonics when they win. i am guilty of that with the hawks and m's, but i always follow the supes.

not "happy" that Ray's gone. he is a hell of a player. i am glad that presti is gutsy enough to remold the franchise. it is needed.
